What Leadership Is Not

Loudness.

Disregard.

Charisma.

Passion.

Position.

Fame.

Ignorance.

Cowardice.

Cleverness.

Pleasantry.

Assumed superiority.

Standing at the front of a room.

Sitting at the head of a conference table.

Writing in the blank space of a blog or a comment field.

Scoffing.

Intimidating.

Power.

i just listened to a sermon by my brother, who said, “authority is to be used for service”..referring to the marriage reflection of Christ and the church. and he asks the question: “in what ways is the husband to serve his wife?”… here's the link to the sermon if you're interested: http://calvaryopcglenside.org/audio/ephesians-525-33-eves-helper

David, I really love this. I think so often people equate passion, fame, and standing at the front of the room with leadership. Yikes!

I agree with April's comment. I've been married for 7 years to the most wonderful man. He is the most incredible leader and head of our household. He has taught me, by his example, more about the love of Jesus than any other person. I'm grateful and humbled.
