Oh, good grief! When I saw your post (it did not include your edited comment) in my daily subscriptions update, I got very concerned! When I read the rest of it, as well as the above comments, I realized that those motherly instincts that were kicking in so forcefully were all for naught! Are we talking about games here??? hey, stompboxes like the ds-1 work well with amps because they physically boost the signal and cause the actual speaker of the amp itself to distort. this to say, I am not sure what happens when you put one in front of a DI box.
I know nothing about the other units you mentioned
